*Procedure: - Divide class into 2 groups. - Ask Ss to guess letters in the word “pets” - T gives feedback -T checks who’s the winner. Activity 2: Presentation: -Content 1.Look, listen and repeat a.Teaching vocabulary: +dogs :chó (pic.) + cats : mèo (pic.) + birds : chim (pic.) + parrots : vẹt (pic.) +rabbits : thỏ (pic.) b. Set the sence: + Show the picture and elicit the answer of who the characters are.(Minh, Lucy, Bill, Mai + Explain what happens in the picture. + Play the tape for Ss to listen & say along. + Have Ss repeat the text in chorus. + Work in pairs. + Write the pattern on the board Do you have any dogs? Yes, I do./ No, I don’t. Activity 3: Practice -Content 2: Listen, Point and say - Procedure: + ask students to answer the following questions: What have you learnt from the lesson today? What are the core values of the lesson? ( Let’s love pets). + Praise some ss who are hard working/ active/ good. as well as encourage others to try more. + Give feedback Homework: - Learn by heart the pattern. - Drill. *Adjustment: Week Period UNIT 16: MY PETS Lesson 1 (4, 5, 6)- p.41 I. Objectives: * By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: + use the words and phrases related to the topic My Pets. + listen and use the pattern in listening and writing + sing the song “ My pets”. - Ss can develop some following competences: + Communicative and collaborative competence: act 1, act 4 + Problem-solving competence: act 1, act 2, act 3 + Self-studying and self-control competence: act 2, act 3, act 4 + Problem-solving and creative competence: act 4 *Language focus: - Structure: Do you have any dogs/ cats...? Objectives: * By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: + show their understanding by reading & writing. + do the project: collect a picture of PETS and show it to the class by telling the class about their name. - Ss can develop some following competences: + Communicative and collaborative competence: act 1, act 4 + Problem-solving competence: act 1, act 2, act 3 + Self-studying and self-control competence: act 2, act 3, act 4 + Problem-solving and creative competence: act 4 *Language focus: - Reading skill - Writing skill - Differentiated teaching: + Incomplete Ss: can do the task with 50% correct sentences + Well-completed Ss: can do task with 100% correct sentences * Attributes: - Procedure: + Explain how to do the task. + Have Ss read the texts. + Give Ss time to do the task. + Have Ss swap & check their answers. + Write the correct answers on the board for Ss to copy down. + Do choral & individual repetition. Activity 4: -Content 6: Project - Procedure: + Get Ss to prepare a picture of their family to carry out the project. They are going to to show a picture of their family and tell the class about them + Get Ss to work in groups. Teacher moves around and praise Ss when they perform well. + Call some Ss to the front of the class to show their pictures to the class and tell the class. Consolidation: - Content: Review + How to do writing, reading text well - Procedure: + Ask students to answer the following questions: What have you learnt from the lesson today?
