Exercise 1. Read the following text and decide which answer best fits each numbered blank.
The British spend their free time in different ways. People generally use it to relax, but many people

watching television, the average viewing time being 25 hours a week. People often record

On Saturday morning, my parents took US out for lunch at the new pizzeria. The afternoon was simply 
amazing because we were invited to a birthday party at the bowling alley. We got home at around 
8:00, and we just made some ham and cheese sandwiches with lettuce and tomato.
 Sunday was "sleeping until late" day! However, we still had time to go jogging before lunch. In 
the afternoon, we went to the local arcade to hang out with our friends. Before we headed back 
home, we stopped by the ice cream parlor. I had the chocolate mint delight and Jodie ate the banana 
split, yummy! And guess who we found on our way home? Yes, they were driving to my house to pick 
her up! So soon!!!!
